A while back, I thought I would start something fun on here. I got to thinking that I would really like to share with all of you, the really lovely Etsy shops that I run across. I am always falling in love with shops on Etsy (I mean, how could you not with all of the wonderful artisans out there?) and as artists, we need all of the support we can get! Show and Tell

 

Have you ever wondered what my work space looks like? Well, here it is. My tiny-messy-craft area.

After moving recently this is currently how my area looks. Does it need to be cleaned? Yes. Should I organize it? Of course. Do I wish my area was an entire room just for me? Do I even have to answer that? In all seriousness, I am quite happy with my little space. Great things come from this space! (yes,  I'm bragging....just a little bit) Things that make me very happy and happy to share with all of you! Thank you for your continued support of my *very* small business. Peace, Love & Breastfeeding!

 New in the shop is this adorable little gnome displaying the International Breastfeeding Symbol.

Cute for kids? Sure. But I think we all know this one is for the Mamas!

~GIVEAWAY~

 I think it's about time for another giveaway don't you?? I've been experimenting here at The Indigo Forest and I'm really happy about the new things I've been creating lately. The Luna Sleep Balm included in the set is my newest creation. It's a lovely, delicately lavender scented balm perfect for children (recommended 6 months and older) and adults alike! I first heat infused healing calendula into olive oil and then blended in some beeswax, lavender essential oil and vitamin E creating an extra creamy balm that is easily absorbed into the skin. Great to use just out of the bath or shower right before bed. Now, like I said, this is something new I've been experimenting with and this is currently the only one I  have left (I hope to have more for the shop in the future). Also along in the set is one of my little gnomes! Crafted of wood and wool blend felt and then painted with AP certified non toxic pain and sealed with my homemade beeswax polish. Children love these little gnomes so much! I always enjoy my customers coming back and telling me how much their children enjoy playing with these little guys (or gals).

: : New : : Lovely Lavender Beeswax Polish

New! My Lovely Lavender Beeswax Polish is now available in the shop! 

And for Purists, Plain Jane Beeswax Polish is also now available. 

Back in the shop again!

Finally, after a good wait, I made up a new batch of beeswax polish! This first batch is my "Plain Jane" polish,  which is simply olive oil and pure beeswax - no scent - so it's perfect for all wood items. I also like to do scented polishes (which I will make soon!). Scented polishes are best used on wood items that will not be going into mouths, etc... (like spoons and teething toys). All of my polishes are hand mixed by me in small batches and is a dream to use! I use my polish all the time for wood items around the house and everyone else  that has used it seems to really like it as well! 

 I use to grate my own beeswax, but using the little beeswax pellets makes my life a whole easier!

A little something for the Birthday Boy!

Anyone who knows my 3 year old knows that he is completely obsessed with The Aquabats! (any other fans out there??) So for his birthday, I attempted to make a wood peg version of the MC Bat Commander. I have to admit, I think it turned out pretty good. Usually I don't craft my peg people like this (all paint, no felt). The lines were all burned into the wood making it permanent and then it was painted with non-toxic water color paints and sealed with my homemade beeswax polish.

Winter On My Mind...

I feel almost as if I have skipped the autumn crafting opportunities, I suppose not really though. Living in central NC, our tempature today will be around 81 degrees and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. I grew up in northern Washingtion were we actually experienced every season. It was great. If we are lucky, here we'll get a small amount of snow, but mostly just a dead looking winter. These winter little gnomes are bringing me some hope I must say. Fingers crossed, we'll get a good snow this year. If you live in a place with similar weather, maybe these little guys will cheer you and your little ones up too! Remember, I can do custom gnomes as well!

Gnomes and Brooches!

 

I'm really excited about my new gnome counting set! I had made a rainbow set awhile back and loved it so much that I new I had to create another, but I was thinking "winter" with this set. They are numbered 1-6 in dots and the dots have been burned into the wood pegs so they are permanent. Each one has been painted with AP certified non-toxic paint and then sealed with my homemade beeswax polish.

 

 

These have been so much fun to make! My new brooches have been made using wool blend felt and sewn with cotton thread. There is bar pin on the back so you can easily attach it to any outfit! I have just ordered some new felt and I am thinking about making these a custom option. Keep an eye out!
