New*New*New

I've been on a new crafting journey lately, one that I'm very happy to have gone on! I am venturing into the world of hot/cold aromatherapy pillows. I had some lovely fabrics lying around along with flax seeds and knew that I wanted to make some hot/cold packs. After a discussion with a birthworker friend of mine, she thought that this would be something useful in the hands of doulas, midwive and pregnant women alike. I couldn't agree more! (being pregnant myself, I know that having one of these on hand will be nice!) So I got to work! The one that I have listed also has the wonderful addtion of dried organic lavender! So incredibly soothing! I have a few more designs in mind (some that will have removable covers, larger sizes and some that are child sized as well so keep an eye out!) I also discoved very recently that these are lovely to have on hand when the little ones aren't feeling so well. They make for a nice, warm snuggle. Very comforting. I would love it if you would check it out! Thank you!

Halloween Inspired!

Perhaps It's just a teeny bit early, but I don't know about you, I'm ready for autumn already! I was feeling inspired by Hallween (one of my favorite holidays) and just had to create these two little cuties. I have a feeling this isn't going to be the end of my autumn/Halloween crafting.

Also, I will be participating in a lovely giveaway soon! I'm very excited about it and I think you will be too! Keep up with The Indigo Forest on Facebook for more details.

Wishing everyone a happy Wednesday!

What I've been working on...

I have to admit, I really LOVE to create these fun little wood gnomes. Each time I make one is an opportunity to create something special and unique and I always hope that they make it to good homes with lovely children just waiting to create make believe with them. This set was especially fun to make. I have been drawing that same flower design since I was at least 8 years old and to me it looks lovely burned into the wood with a splash of color added. Adorable little flowers under the sun.
Have you all seen the Ooga Booga fabric?? (I'm sure you have) It has to be one of my favorite prints out there! This set of wash cloths are awesome! Cotton stretch knit fabric on one side and cotton terry cloth on the other side makes this the ideal wash cloth. I have had some of these that I made when my oldest child was born 5 years ago (using flannel and terry cloth) and they are still going strong! I'm sure with the addition of the soft stretch knit fabric, they will soon become a bath time favorite!
This set of wash cloths I was especially excited about because they are made with cotton flannel and soft velour stretch fabric. The velour has a really lovely feel and would be perfect to use on small babes. The colors are so bright and cheerful too!

I'll be adding more cloth panty liners to the shop very soon. So keep your eyes out for those!

World Breastfeeding Week

Today marks the start of World Breastfeeding Week and I just wanted to make this quick post to announce that I have proudly been nursing my second son for well over two years now! We are fast approaching a stop as the new baby is making way, but these past two years of nursing has brought me great pride in my mothering journey. I was unable to nurse my first son due to some medical reasons and had a very rough start with my second son, but after three weeks of hard work, it finally paid off and we are just now coming to an end. I am so happy to have had this experience and look forward to all of the joys that nursing brings with my third son. Happy World Breastfeeding Week!!
